Evangelist Brenda Reid
Brenda P. Reid was born in Williamson County, Franklin, Tennessee to Reverend Lewis H. and
Virginia P. Patton. Her father and mother instilled immeasurable fortitude and encouragement that
one can do anything through the help of the Lord. Mrs. Reid’s most cherished scripture is Psalm 121
which is the proclamation of her life: “I will look unto the hills from whence cometh my help, my
help comes from the Lord.”
Brenda matriculated from the Williamson County public school system to the American Medical
Institute, Belmont University, and the American Insurance Institute. She completed her studies at
Boston University Corporate Education Center in Business Project Management. Brenda has
completed numerous job-related courses and distinctive assignments.
Her career goals and aspirations led her to employment with Continental National American
Insurance Company (CNA) Management Team where she earned recognition and received the
prestigious “Silver Award” because of her exceptional interpersonal and management skills. She also
attained accolades in her professional role as System Expert Consultant for the CNA Southeast
Region comprised of several states.
Mrs. Reid retired from State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company where she was a valuable
member of the Risk Education Team, specializing in medical malpractice education for physicians
and staff.
Inspired by a strong, faith-based lineage of clergy and musicians, Mrs. Reid accepted the call to the
Ministry, becoming a licensed Evangelist in August 2010 at the West Tennessee Annual Conference.
Her ministry has also included working as a volunteer with Alive Hospice where she provided Grief
Counseling to families and companionship to patients.
Brenda is the devoted spouse of Rev. Walter Winstead Reid, Jr. with whom she has faithfully
supported ministries throughout the State of Tennessee and Kentucky of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Reid unselfishly enjoys being a proud mother of one daughter, Shay, and Bonus Mother of
Kimberly, and Brennan. She is also the grandmother of two, Makayla and MaKenzi. She lovingly
shares her role in her family as daughter, sister, and aunt. Her family has always been the
embodiment of her values.
